If you’ve been researching Hilton timeshares on the resale market, you’ve undoubtedly come across terms like “Hilton Grand Vacations” and “Hilton Club”, and if you’re anything like many of our clients, you’ve been left wondering, what’s the difference?
In this article, we’ll be breaking down exactly what Hilton Club timeshares are, what makes them different from other Hilton Grand Vacations timeshares, and why you might want to consider owning at a Hilton Club property rather than the other Hilton Grand Vacations resorts. Let’s dive right in!
What Is Hilton Club?
The best way to describe Hilton Club timeshares would be that they are a vacation club nested within the Hilton Grand Vacations timeshare product. In this way, all Hilton Club timeshares are part of the Hilton Grand Vacations system. They functionally work identically to how other Hilton Grand Vacations timeshares work, using a points-based reservation system that allows owners to travel to over 50 different timeshares across the globe.
Hilton Club owners have the ability to travel to any other Hilton Grand Vacations resort, and Hilton Grand Vacations owners can also travel to any Hilton Club resort. The two clubs are completely integrated into the same booking system, and owners will use the exact same online dashboard to manage their ownership and reserve their vacations.
Hilton Club timeshares do differ from other Hilton Grand Vacations timeshares in a few important ways including; the resort’s construction and locations, the additional benefits that are offered to Hilton Club owners, and their value on the resale market. We’ll be covering each of these differences in the sections below.
Resorts That Are Part Of Hilton Club
The majority of Hilton Club resorts are located in highly desirable urban destinations, with many being located in New York City. As of the writing of this article there are currently 9 Hilton Club resorts, but Hilton has been building more in the recent years and will most likely continue to do so in the foreseeable future.
Hilton Club Resort | Location |
---|---|
The Central at 5th, a Hilton Club | New York City, New York |
The Quin, a Hilton Club | New York City, New York |
The Residences, a Hilton Club | New York City, New York |
West 57th Street, a Hilton Club | New York City, New York |
The District, a Hilton Club | Washington, DC |
Liberty Place Charleston, a Hilton Club | Charleston, South Carolina |
La Pacifica Los Cabos, a Hilton Club | Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, Mexico |
The Bay Forest Odawara, a Hilton Club | Odawara-shi, Kanagawa, Japan |
The Beach Resort Sesoko, a Hilton Club | Motobu-cho, Kunigami-gun, Okinawa, Japan |
Smaller Unit Sizes
Hilton Club resorts generally offer smaller unit sizes when compared to other Hilton Grand Vacations resorts due to their construction and urban locations. For example, the largest unit size offered at West 57th Street in New York City would be a 1 Bedroom Penthouse, whereas a resort like Parc Soleil in Orlando offers unit sizes as high as a 3 Bedroom Penthouse.
Higher ClubPoints Required To Book
Also, comparing these two resorts further, the number of points it takes to book at Hilton Club resorts can be considerably higher when compared to other HGV resorts. For example, at West 57th Street, it takes 8400 points to reserve 1 week in a Studio during Platinum season, whereas at Parc Soleil it takes just 3520 points for 1 week in a Studio during Platinum season.
Obviously, these two resorts are not equivalent destinations to compare, but it does underline the fact that Hilton Club resorts generally require more ClubPoints to reserve and offer fewer options for travelers looking for larger room sizes.
Hilton Club Benefits
Owners that purchase their Hilton timeshare with a Hilton Club home resort receive a few additional benefits in addition to the many great benefits that are offered with other Hilton Grand Vacations ownerships.
