Whether you’re a new Marriott week owner, or have been an owner for years, there are some common mistakes that are easy to make when it comes to reserving your week. Knowing these mistakes and how to prevent them can help Marriott owners get the most out of their vacation time, and have a much higher chance at snagging some hard-to-get weeks.
If you’d like to get one step closer to mastering your Marriott, you’ve come to the right place!
12 Months Out Isn’t Always 365 Days Away
As you probably know, Marriott owners that own a single week can book their vacations up to 12 months in advance. One common mistake is assuming that you have to wait exactly 365 days before booking the week you want.
Keep in mind, for deeded Marriott weeks, there are many resorts that offer a choice of check-in days, typically Friday, Saturday or Sunday. If the resort you are deeded to offers multiple check-in days the inventory for each week is released a few days before the earliest offered check-in day.
For example, if you would like to check in to Marriott’s Canyon Villas in Phoenix, this resort offers a choice of Friday, Saturday or Sunday for your check-in day. Let’s say you’d like to check in on Sunday, June 9th, 2024. The inventory for this weeks would be available to book as early as Wednesday, June 7th, 2024 for the 12-month booking window.
Knowing this small trick can give a great advantage in being able to book the week you want within your deeded season. The check-in days that are offered vary from resort to resort, so be sure to check the inventory release calendar for your particular home resorts. If you’d like to gain access to release calendars for each Marriott resort, you can find them here: Marriott Inventory Release Calendars.
