Disney Vacation Club has announced that Interval International is DVC’s new exchange provider. This new arrangement with Interval International (II) will be in effect on January 1, 2022 and is replacing the exchange contract previously had with RCI. This is excellent news for those who own a timeshare that is affiliated with Interval International as their exchange company, and wish to increase the available travel options for different resorts or locations.
DVC members learned about this change first hand via the following email:
Dear Member,
At Disney Vacation Club, we know how much you enjoy exploring destinations and experiences beyond your Home Resorts. Our team is dedicated to helping you create unforgettable vacation memories around the world. That’s why we’re thrilled to name Interval International as our exclusive new exchange provider for traditional exchanges, effective Jan. 1, 2022.
This new relationship will offer you a broad range of resort experiences, providing flexible and diverse opportunities in amazing locations across Europe, Asia, South America, Australia, as well as destinations closer to home including the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean.
Through Interval International, you will have access to thousands of resorts including a specially curated portfolio of high-quality properties selected especially for Members. This expanded portfolio includes well-known resorts offered by Marriott, Sheraton, Hyatt and Westin, to name a few.
In the meantime, you can continue to book nightly and weekly exchanges in the traditional exchanges through our current program until Dec. 31, 2021. Additionally, any confirmed reservations or points that have been deposited to RCI will be honored through 2023. If you have confirmed exchanges with RCI, deposited points with RCI or made a booking with RCI using cash, you can always review your activity on the Member website.
We’re excited to continue to provide you and your family with a whole new world of vacation possibilities!
For those Disney Vacation Club members who have already deposited their points into RCI, there is no reason to be concerned. Those points will be honored with RCI until 2023. However, as of January 1, 2022 all non DVC resort stays will need to be booked through Interval International.
Interval International was the first exchange company that Disney Vacation Club worked with after its opening in 1991. The relationship began with their initial contract in 1995 until DVC changed over to RCI in 2009. It appears that Interval International has won back Disney Vacation Club’s business, which is great news for many timeshare owners.
Those who own DVC will gain access to the large assortment of five star accommodations that Interval International offers. The trading power of DVC is quite high with II, giving them access to almost any resort that is available. This is also excellent news for Marriott owners with Interval International who will be able to use their high trading power to access these Disney Vacation Club properties.
Disney Vacation Club properties will bring a new type of vacation to Interval Internationals inventory. The close proximity to the Disney parks make them a great choice for families looking to have a magical time together. The other timeshare resorts, such as Marriott and Hilton, that Interval International offers will be the perfect option for those wishing to trade their Disney vacation for something a little more exotic in one of the 80 countries that II offers to owners and their guests.
