In the wake of the August 8th wildfires, the Hyatt Ka‘anapali Beach Resort is set to reopen for new reservations starting November 1st. The team is working tirelessly to restore services to pre-fire levels. By early November, all pools and amenities are expected to be fully operational, and food and beverage outlets will return to normal hours of operation, depending on staffing availability.
Welcoming Back Owners
The resort has successfully welcomed back many owners over the past several weeks. Owner socials on Monday evenings and the General Manager Forum on Tuesday mornings have been reinstated, providing opportunities for members to meet other owners and associates, and to learn about completed and planned enhancements for the resort.
2024 Pool Renovation Update
The resort has announced a shift in the schedule for the much-anticipated 2024 pool renovation. Initially planned for August to October 2024, the renovation will now commence on April 29th, 2024, and is estimated to conclude by the end of June. This decision was made to avoid impacting the same owners who were affected by this year’s fires.
During the renovation period, while the resort’s lagoon pools and infinity pool will be closed, owners and guests will have access to the adjacent Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa’s six free-form pool areas with waterfalls, a 150-foot water slide, and whirlpool spa.
Cancellation Policy For Pool Renovation Period
Owners with reservations during the pool renovation period will be able to cancel without fees until November 30th, 2023. This allows owners ample time to reconsider their travel plans for 2024 considering the pool renovation project.
Ka’anapali Beach Associate Recovery Fund Update
The Ka’anapali Beach Associate Recovery Fund, established to support resort operations associates affected by the fires, has received significant contributions amounting to $597,160 as of October 16th, 2023. Funds have been allocated to support associates who lost their homes and those with other losses.
Encouragement For Continued Support
The resort is encouraging continued contributions to the recovery fund as well as attendance at the weekly General Manager Forum during owners’ visits. This provides an opportunity to learn more about the upcoming pool renovation and other planned enhancements.
In conclusion, the Hyatt Ka‘anapali Beach Resort is making commendable strides in the aftermath of the wildfires, working towards the full restoration of its services while also planning necessary renovations. The resort’s commitment to supporting its associates through the recovery fund and its thoughtful consideration of owners in rescheduling the pool renovation demonstrate its dedication to its community of owners and staff members.
