Hilton Grand Vacations has just announced some adjustments to the number of ClubPoints it takes to book each night of the week for HGVClub and The Club reservations. These updates will go into effect for reservations starting in January 2025 and beyond.
Starting January 1, 2024, you will be able to view these changes on the HGV Member website, but let’s take a look at what announcements were made, and how they may affect Hilton Grand Vacations owners.
What’s Changing?
Mon | Tue | Wed | Thu | Fri | Sat | Sun | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Points % | 10% | 10% | 10% | 10% | 20% | 20% | 20% |
Mon | Tue | Wed | Thu | Fri | Sat | Sun | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Points % | 10% | 10% | 10% | 20% | 20% | 20% | 10% |
The nightly points values shown above are based on a percentage of the total 7-Night points cost that is equal for both HGVClub and The Club programs, totaling 100% of the full-week cost. Previously, the percentage of nightly points rates for a 7-Night stay was 10% for Monday through Thursday nights and 20% for Friday through Sunday nights.
Under the new methodology, the percentage of nightly points rates for a 7-Night stay will be 10% for Sunday through Wednesday and 20% for Thursday through Saturday nights. However, the cost of the week remains the same.
What Does This Mean For You?
Hilton has made these changes in an effort to better align the nightly points rate across all of the HGVClub and The Club programs. So now, the percentage of nightly points needed for a reservation within the HGVClub and The Club programs will be the same for all Members.
For HGVClub Members, the nightly points rates will change to 10% for Sunday through Wednesday and 20% for Thursday through Saturday nights. However, the points total for all weeks (7-Night stays) remains the same.
Why Does This Change Only Impact Reservations for 2025 and Beyond?
Select properties have booking windows that open 14 months before the check-in or check-out date, so the earliest this change can be made in a uniform manner for cross-club reservations was starting in 2025.
Will This Change Impact My Home Week Booking?
No, this change does not affect your ability to book your Home Week. You can still use the points associated with your ownership to book your Home Week as you have done before.
What About 3-Night/4-Night Ownership?
If you own a 3-Night or 4-Night ownership, this change will not impact your ability to book your Home Week. You can still confirm your 3-Night or 4-Night stay using the points associated with your ownership.
Impact on Dual Owners – HGVClub and Embarc
Currently, the implementation of the unified points methodology only affects reservations for January 2025 and beyond that were booked through HGVClub and The Club. If there are future changes to the Embarc / Extraordinary Escapes points methodology, Hilton will communicate those details to Embarc owners directly.
