Hilton Grand Vacations Club has had a strong presence in Hawaii for some time, with all their resorts previously located on the island of Oahu. However, that has now changed with Hilton Grand Vacations Club celebration of the opening of Maui Bay Villas, the first HGVC resort on the island of Maui.
The resort is opening with a phased approach with the first phase of Maui Bay Villas now complete. This first phase of the resort offers Owners 31 spectacular suites, a large and luxurious pool, a fitness center, and a sun deck for Owners and guests to enjoy Maalaea Bay. The one and two bedroom suites include a full kitchen, living room, and dining area.
When the resort is completed, Maui Bay Villas will feature 388 villas spanning across 15 acres, a clubhouse, and restaurant options such as the poolside bar and grill and on-site eatery. The remaining phases of Maui Bay Villas are still underway with an expected completion of 2027.
Hilton Grand Vacations Club president and CEO, Mark Wang, describes Maui Bay Villas as “one of our most highly anticipated properties”, and he’d be right. HGVC’s branching out to other Hawaiian islands is sure to be exciting news to those who wish to enjoy a more scenic and serene experience on their Hawaiian vacation.
Mark Wang also states that, “HGV is dedicated to being a steward of our environment, a good neighbor to our community, a respected employer, and a phenomenal host.” HGV is showing this statement to be true in their actions during this phased opening process.
HGVC has made improvements to the community infrastructure that they have done in addition to the resort’s construction. These improvements include new sidewalks, bike lanes, crosswalks, drainage system enhancements, and new landscaping. These will benefit not only guests of Maui Bay Villas, but the entire Kihei community as well.
In terms of taking care of the environment surrounding the resort, HGVC is making strides there as well. All of the appliances in the resort are water efficient, single use plastics will be avoided whenever possible, and all products in the resort’s landscaping are environmentally conscious; including the use of native plants throughout. HGVC even saved multiple trees that were in the area by sending them to a nursery for care, and then replanted them after construction was complete.
Numerous jobs were also created with this new HGV resort. Beginning with the almost 200 local construction jobs to date, there will also be an additional 110 to 140 construction jobs that will be created for the rest of the phased opening. Now that the resort is open and operating, there are even more local positions created. At this time Maui Bay Villas has 50 full time positions and will be adding more positions over time in sales, marketing, administration, and hospitality.
To celebrate the accomplishment of the soft opening of Maui Bay Villas, Hilton Grand Vacations held a small Hawaiian blessing ceremony that was in accordance with current health and safety guidelines. HGVC is hoping that a larger ceremony can be held at a later date as well.
With only 31 suites available for Owners and their guests, Maui Bay Villas is certain to be one of the most exclusive stays with Hilton Grand Vacations Club during the phased opening.
